Hi Guys!
I'm just wandering if you guys could help me here.
I have ony recently gone blind and am fluent in grade 1 braille and can read grade 2 VERY slowly.
i'm coming up to the end of semester and have to do 4x15 minute presentations in the next week.
A friend has lent me her pacmate braille display to use to read my presentation on while i deliver it.
I have the braille display working on my computer with JAWS i was just wandering if anyone knew if i could get it to read in grade 1 (uncontracted) braile as opposed to the grade 2 braille it currently reads?
thanks guys!
(note this has been x'd posted to accessibe devices as well :-))
I don't know exactly how, but there is a button on the display, or a setting in the JAWS menu that will decontract it into grade 1. If you have even a quick start manual, or do a quick google search you'll be able to find out the exact method.
ouch, you really wanna do that? it will make your reading even slower. it's in grade 2 for a reason! efficiency, the best thing to do for yourself is to force yourself to read in grade 2, trust me, it's better in the end, because it's much faster and it's a better work around, I'd actually learn grade 3 if I could haha!
Did you figure out how to do this yet? If not I can try to find it for you ... I know there is a control in JAWS that will uncontract the Braille, but I am not exactly sure where it is located. Good luck.
no i couldn't figure it out, if some else can that'll be great
